Samo.co.uk is a web site primarily aimed at making online shopping in the UK a little easier and quicker. On the side I'm also planning on using it as a means of storing and displaying some of my photographs, and a place to upload a few small applications I've written. I have big plans for the application section, which will hopefully include a list of high quality freeware applications written by some fantastic developers.
There are literally thousands of online shops and many web sites that list a vast number of them, but often the choice is overwhelming. Samo.co.uk aims to provide a small selection of UK online shops that we've found useful and of a professional standard, with a good selection of stock, and good quality of service. We can't vouch for all the shops featured here, and others may have different opinions, but we have purchased from many and all with satisfying experiences.

Samo.co.uk has been running for 9 years, with it's first iteration taking off in early 2000. Over time it's changed faces many times but overall it's main aim was to make online shopping faster and easier. Past changes have included improved looks, reduced workload involved in updating the site, and reduce cost. At one point the whole site was coded by hand in notepad and dragged data from a MySQL database, that made it fast to update but expensive to run.
The previous version created mid 2008 was 100% created in a WYSIWYG graphical editor, from a management perspective it made it so much easier to maintain but after much deliberation I came to the conclusion that the site was too focused on looking good and lacked the quick performance of previous, less graphical versions of the site. Based on the stats this in turn has resulted in less visitors to the site and a lower rank within Google.
2009's now arrived and so has a new Samo.co.uk. This time the sites been recoded in notepad, a few images have been introduced to increase navigation and visual appeal, and several sections have been reordered to make the site appear more friendly and professional. Using tables to arrange the site design's also meant I'm using the screen space more efficiently, the front page currently features many commonly used links, and the shopping section features a huge number of links, all are aimed to provide a fast and convenient way of navigating the web.
